ABOUT
Wintergarden Pictures is a Sydney-based, independent film company established in 2017 by Rosie Braye, Joshua Longhurst and Tim Spencer. Rosie and Joshua met in 2013 during the Sydney Film Festival’s professional development program, where Joshua’s short film, Ravage, screened as part of the Dendy Short Film Awards and Rosie served on the pre-selection committee. Tim and Joshua first worked together on the short film, Oasis, which screened in multiple film festivals domestically and internationally. Wintergarden Pictures' first project, Cherry Season, was produced with the assistance of Create NSW and in association with SBS. It was broadcast on SBS Viceland and is available on SBS on Demand. Season One of the comedy digital series Ding Dong I’m Gay is now available on YouTube, based on the pilot series with over 6.5 million views. Season One was produced with principal production investment and development funding from Screen Australia, and financed and developed with support from Screen NSW.
The team is dedicated to creating engaging and innovative stories for screen, with a focus on LGBTQIA and female-led storytelling. Wintergarden Pictures is named after the Central Coast picture show owned by Tim’s great-grandparents and where his grandmother watched the classics during the 1920s.
